Hi, I'm Lana Luvhurts. I'm a professional roller skater and certified skating instructor in Los Angeles. I teach a variety of skating disciplines: skating fundamentals, beginner to advanced skills for recreational skating, street, roller dance, and roller derby. I played roller derby for 5 seasons, skating and coaching for one of the top leagues in the world (Angel City Derby) before moving on to adventures in roller dance, urban inline, and creating more opportunities to share the love of skating.

I started This Rad in 2016 as a project to share knowledge, resources, and skate media by a skater for skaters, with an interest in expanding what we see in roller sports. This project has grown into This Rad SK8, which continues to share skating through lessons and coaching, skate projects and creative collaborations, and an extensive archive of free skating tutorials and videos.

This Rad SK8 celebrates rad skate culture of all styles and persuasions. We believe in radical acts of love for a just society. We advocate for treating our bodies with kindness, taking care of our communities, and helping others reach their flow state.
